Methi Matar Malai Recipe in English
Preparation time: 30 Minutes
Cooking Time: 25 Minutes
Serve: 3
Ingredients:
Peas: 100 gms
Methi (Fenugreek leaves): 200 gms
Onion: 2 medium size
Ginger: one and a half inch
Coriander powder: half tsp
Red chili powder: Half tsp
Turmeric powder: 1/3 tsp
Cinamon stick: one inch
Kasoori Methi: ½ tsp
Salt: ½ tsp
Sugar: ½ tsp (Optional)
Oil: 3tbsp
Malai/Fresh Cream: One small bowl
Water: 100 ml
Steps:
Clean and wash Methi leaves. Boil the leaves and Peas in separately. Boil methi leaves for two minutes. Boil the peas until they get soft. Transfer the methi leaves and peas into ice-cold water and leave for 2-3 minutes. Now crush the methi leaves into the mixer and mash the peas with a spoon.
Fry the onions and ginger in two tbsp oil just for 2-3 minutes. Cool completely and grind it into a fine paste. For more recipes visit ashaandanita.com Heat the same pan with one tbsp of oil. Add cinnamon stick and onion paste. Stire for a while. Add coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder. Add Salt. Give it a quick mix. Now at this stage add methi leaves, mix well. Now add kasuri methi and peas. Mix all well. Add 100 ml of water. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Add fresh cream or malai and you can optionally add ½ tsp sugar.
Turn off the flame and serve hot.
