Semiya upma or Vermicelli upma is a very popular and healthy breakfast item. Vermicelli roasted: 100 gm
Onion: Half chopped
Capsicum: half chopped
Carrot: half copped
Corn: 3 TBSP
Green Chilli: One, slit
Small mustard seeds: half tsp
Cumin seeds: half tsp
Hing: two pinches
Red chili powder: one third tsp
Curry leaves: 7-8
Oil: two TBSP
Salt: Half tsp
Steps:
Boil water in a saucepan, add one tsp oil. Add vermicelli to the boiling water. Strain vermicelli after three minutes. Keep aside.
Heat a pan. Add two tbsp oil, green chili, cumin, mustard seeds, and curry leaves. Let all crackle. Add all chopped vegetables, fry for one minute on medium flame.
Add salt and vermicelli. Mix well for one minute. Cover the lid. Turn off the flame. Serve hot after ten minutes.
